So what you'd like is something like a "Smart Upgrade" feature that checks the release that people are using when they are logging on, and then, according to policy rules that you set up, allows a controlled number of people to be upgraded automatically, pulling down code from Domino or File servers, and installing on locked down PCs using Windows Administrator rights?.... which are all capabilities that exist with the Smart Upgrade feature.

OK: Maybe my comment sounds a little flippant (it's not what I intend.) What is it that you feel need that Smart Upgrade doesn't already provide? In my experience, the teams managing Windows program upgrades monopolise packaging (considering it to be their turf), but they are then slow to package Notes client upgrades. Now that Smart Upgrade is a few generations old, it's really very capable, and Domino Admins can take control of their Notes client destinies.... but unfortunately people don't use the feature as often as they should.
